How long have you been in business?
My business has been evolving since 2000, when I began to help teach people to learn how to write better book manuscripts.
What is your primary product or service?
I write memoirs and sometimes novels for my clients.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I have always been interested in writing, and I have spent years learning how to write well. I did work as a registered nurse, for about ten years, starting in 1983. However I was always far more interested in people and their stories than I ever was in institutions.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
As far as I can see, I am the only business in this area offering a personal service. I write the stories people bring to me, whether those stories consist of their life stories or novels. I read copiously and analytically, so that I know what is being printed. This way, I can write books that my clients may be proud to own and to present to agents and publishers.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I have one location now, and yes, i do plan to expand. I would like to hire a few more people to work with me.
Provide detailed directions to your location
From Route 128, go west on I-95 South. Take exit 27-A towards Totten Pond Road. Merge onto Winter Street. Continue 0.2 miles on Totten Pond Road and merge onto Winter Street. After 1.2 miles turn right onto Lexington Street, then make a slight right onto Bacon Street, then turn right onto Main Street at the fork. From there you will take the first right onto Fiske Street.
What type of payments do you accept?
I accept payment through personal or business checks. If my clients prefer to pay me with a credit card, they may do so through PayPal.
Which areas do you service?
I work primarily over the internet, and therefore have clients all over the country.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
I own and run my company.
What are your hours of operation?
People may call my any time, during business hours from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
I have had many compliments, but one in particular stands out. "Thank you for taking my sad, sad life, and turning it around so that I could laugh." Another one said; "You were worth every penny - You made a silk purse out of sow's ear."
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
I like the old story of the three hermits who settled on a small island, several miles off the mainland. Every day they prayed unceasingly. Any prayer will do in this story - we all have our prayers. But they were not praying for things or even for power. They were merely praying that their god would recognize them as human beings, with all their faults. One day a priest hired a rowboat and set out to their little island to teach them his ritual of prayer. When the priest arrived and told them what he wanted to do, the three hermits thought about it for a while and then told the priest they were not interested. So the priest rowed back to the mainland. The three hermits watched him dipping the oars into the water and leaning into them as he rowed, and decided that perhaps it would be good to learn what the priest might have to teach. So, they ran across the surface of the water to the priest, shouting, "Teach us how to pray! Teach us how to pray!"
